Sonic Encounters Exploring Collaborative Sound Art – Tate Modern 6th July

Using Lubaina Himid’s collaborative practice as a starting point, the artist and her long-time collaborators have been invited to jointly explore sound and its disruptive qualities.

This event,  through initial discussion with Lubaina Himid, Magda Stawarska and Christine Eyene, explored sonic practices with three listening sessions from Ain Bailey, Magda Stawarska and Emeka Ogboh, which have been developed specifically for this programme.

Throughout the afternoon, the audience heard  Sonic Stories from Lubaina Himid, Magda Stawarska, Christine Eyene and Emeka Ogboh. Sonic Stories is an ongoing project from Ain Bailey, which explores the idea of a ‘lifetime soundtrack’ or sonic autobiography, and the role that sound plays in identity formation.
